Job Corps representative will be on hand to answer your
questions, discuss eligibility and put you in touch
with an admissions counselor.
Before
you call, take a moment to review Job Corps' eligibility
policy to make sure that Job Corps is right for you.
Job Corps might be right if you:
are 16 through 24 years old.
are a citizen or legal resident of the United States.
meet the program's income qualifications.
are serious about starting a career.
are a high school graduate who wants to pursue career technical training or advance to college.
are a student who wants to complete your high school diploma or GED.
The
Admissions Process
Applicants
are required to meet with an Outreach and Admissions
counselor prior to admission to Job Corps.
The
counselor will conduct an interview and a background
check and make sure that the applicant meets eligibility
requirements.
The
counselor will also explain, in detail, what will be
expected of the applicant while in Job Corps and the
benefits of the program.
The
applicant must sign a pre-admission agreement to comply
with Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy for drugs and
violence.
Once
the application process is complete, the applicant will
be assigned to a particular Job Corps center, most likely
the center closest to where he or she lives. The OA
counselor will then make travel arrangements for the
student to ensure that he or she arrives safely at the
center.
The
admissions process may take several weeks, but it is
important to ensure that the applicant is a good match
for Job Corps.
